At a wildlife rehab facility I met two crows that said, "caw" in a human accent. They said it like a human reading the word "caw" aloud. The tech shook her head and said, "they're making fun of us. People say 'caw' to them all day, so they've started impersonating us." I <3 crows

corvids are amazing. my parents use “ca-caw!” as a way of getting each other’s attention and the neighborhood corvids - crows, blue jays, etc. have started mimicking it as a way to get fed

My mom has made friends with the crows in the woods near her home. They will now come up and tap on the front door for a snack. :)

Bless corvids but also the ones in Flagstaff are enormous and they chill in huge trees mimicking the same sounds Predator makes. It's terrifying and delightful to feel like you are being hunted as you walk through town.

Q: Why do crows in Boston get hit by trucks more than cars?
A: They can warn each other of cars by screaming "cah!" but none of them know how to scream "truck"
