Connecting through tethered cellular data safer or less safe than home wifi? (Let's say no VPN)

Tethered has less points of attack but that would imply you dont trust your home network. Better fix that first.

Looking for safest/simplest solution. Tethered data getting cheaper. Wifi seems more targetable but my technical understanding is limited.

Good call Orca. Safety is a key topic to cover. We've got a few new features for december, but we'll see if we can work in safety as well

Better to not use VPN at all than a good VPN service ?

It can be handy if you're outside on a public wifi network.

I watched someone connect on their phone through a random free VPN service to their exchange account with over $100,000 in it.... Unreal.

Or use 2fa, if you rent a vps you have to trust the vps provider just as well

i would believe it’s (for the usual internet user) not safer to set up their own VPN.

that’s one bad advice, users don’t care about a proper working system, they install things and let’s go,

Plus to MITM an SSL connection requires either owning a comprised root certificate or installing your own on the device.
