Interesting principal-agent problem highlighted by the Bitcoin hard fork. If exchanges won't trade the new coin, it can't survive.

ETC had much more exchange support from the start. Poloniex and Kraken both supported it.
-
Poloniex admins have gone into hiding search "poloniex" "ticket" on twitter, they arent responding to anyone or adding new coins, concerning
-
I've heard rumours Poloniex is insolvent.

Im anti bcc but if it means we lose jihan and roger ver & have progress with the better devs then bcc is a positive.
-
See, I keep telling you it's all about the devs.
-
Devs create & the community gives it value & miners get paid to secure it, we all need each other but without community you have nothing.
-
Crypto is beset with principal-agent problems, which destroy community. I wish devotees would pay more attention to this.

Id like to hear more of your thoughts on this, write it up and share.

It's actually the opposite of the ETH hardfork. And it is intended to create two coins, which the ETH hardfork wasn't.

The Ethereum foundation made determined efforts to stop ETC trading. Tried to get the exchanges to delist it. Failed.

Checks and balances.

Sometimes the independence of the exchanges is useful.
-
except 1st exchange to list wasn't independent, it was mining pool providing hashpower, also Okex, Kraken not independent due to investors.

Need to see cap table to see who has most sway. BTW I trust
@jespow's objectivity. He listed XRP despite his personal fallout with Ripple.pic.twitter.com/VdrbdaIFQZ

I think they call that "pulling rank". Or subtly threatening to pull funds, which is the same thing.

I'm not convinced the new coin is going anywhere. But we'll see.
