(Fourth cont.) This suggests to me that PART of the answer has to be to starve the 'incel' groups by building inviting communities and constructive identities for the kinds of men they prey on and recruit. That's hard work.

Fifth, I think we need to address the way in which the broader society validates the misogynistic beliefs that help DEFINE the 'incel' community but aren't necessarily UNIQUE to them. 'Sexual conquest as a defining part of masculinity' is perhaps chief among them.

I regret the use of the phrase "real life" here. The internet is real life. What I mean to say is that they are not communities based on face-to-face interaction, and are not based on the whole person - just their single-issue obsession.
