How FIFA continues to top the charts will never cease to baffle me. How the hell does a copy/paste game with some of the most predatory monetization around continue to sell like hot cakes every year, or does EA just hide cocaine in the discs to get people addicted?
Tsutaya (Japan) best selling games for October 5-11: FIFA 21 appears to top the charts at no.1 (PS4) and no.5 (Switch) although Ring Fit Adventure is expected to top the actual sales charts. Football is the most popular sports worldwide (except few countries maybe) and FIFA isn’t facing huge competition (PES was once a juggernaut but lost its touch and some licensing). That’s why EA gets away with their practice. Same with NFL but not the same with NBA (2K superior).
