    I don't know what a fronted adverbial is, or an expanded noun phrase. But I love writing, and reading, and doing both for the joy of it. I hope your 9 year old keeps loving writing despite the adverbials (I don't know what they are, but they sound malevolent)

    My 9 yo’s comment on her utterly outstanding report breaks my heart just a bit. A word from her fave authors on how much more important her love for writing is than academic targets would change her world.

    Love the idea of a dinosaur hospital

    Another , another cracking bunch of stories at primary school. This week, the gang visited a dinosaur hospital / asylum. The kids absolutely love to generate ideas. (Okay, I love it, too. I mean, come on! A dinosaur asylum?)
