Starcraft nerds: does SC2 put a significant strain/traffic through my modem? ISP suspects that the combination of streaming and SC2 may be causing my modem to reach its lava-like temperatures.

Noup Streaming does put a significant strain on the modem tho Could be that it is simply that the modem your ISP gave you is of poor quality leading to overheating issues
I could fry an egg on that sucker after my streams yesterday. Current #1 suspect for my intermittent packet loss issues.

I don't know the model, but if you have a computer fan available I would do a cable extension from a molex connector of your PC to the fan and make sure to aim the fan close/well enough through the vents of the modem so it gets good enough airflow
