Why not study Korean to get TOPIK 3 and teach for spending money in the meantime? You can get a really good job here with TOPIK 3 and a degree.
That's a definite possibility if I'm unable to make something more traditional work. As far as I can tell, the job market for foreigners in my field is still nowhere near as lucrative as in the states, even with passable language skills.

You can do a Korean language course in HUFS University. If you study hard you can get it in 6 months to a year and work here and make a lot of money.

Or you can do something like a working holiday , work and study intensively. The starting salary for foreigners who have a masters and TOPIK is ludicrous. I'm not sure your major but if it's IT related you can make bank
