So your process is a placebo?

And there’s this: the placebo effect is a real thing, that can really help/cure people. We don’t know everything about the mind-body connection. But let’s be honest about it. “We don’t know why or if it will work, but let’s try.”

No, placebo effect is a (false) positive response in a control arm of a clinical trial given no real treatment. Placebos cure nothing. Use of placebos are unethical outside of some clinical trials with appropriate ethical oversight. “Mind-body” connection is magical thinking.

The whole "mind-body" dichotomy is pretty misleading, though. I believe in science-based medicine, and I also realize that our brains are just another organ that came along for the evolutionary ride. The mind is just a construct that lets us pretend we are separate from nature.
