It should be easy to know when you’ve found the official YouTube channel of a creator, artist, brand, or public figure. So in late October, we’re updating what it means for channels to be “Verified” w/ new eligibility criteria & a new look. Details → https://yt.be/help/3QfB pic.twitter.com/JXOvMbkbns

@TeamYouTube Stop sugarcoating problem!!
I swear this is a very bad move and it's going to make more problems rather than solve them. This is going to discourage creators even more because the message is very demeaning!2 replies 2 retweets 5 likes -

Dude I'm curious how you see this is a legitimate problem 1 way or the other? Verification has never impacted a creators growth/identity/stance. Verification was most commonly a useless thing most creators didn't even understand. I'm just curious why you think this is so bad?

1. Verification. Useless? Are you kidding me
???
2. Creators don't understand the verification badge?? I guess you think we are very dumb.
3. How is it bad? There are lots of things wrong with this! You know it!! if you don't agree then clearly you shilling for YouTube and bias.1 reply 0 retweets 2 likes -

OK... Besides being a pretty check mark next to your name... What features did it unlock? What did it provide a creator?

Also just want to make sure we're on the same page: YouTube didn't change the way a new creator would VERIFY THEIR CHANNEL to unlock custom thumbnails and the such. This change simply affected a checkmark a creator got at 100K subs. Which was pointless to begin with.
