    Owl ears are asymmetrical and often at different levels on their heads. Due to the asymmetry, sound arrives at different times and allows for near pin-point location of the source.

    Super Owl #9. Perhaps one reason I have yet to see a Snowy Owl this year is all the snow on the ground. They're a lot easier to find without snow, such as this one in a harvested corn field.

    A baby American Alligator calls out for mom. With populations decimated due to hunting, these animals were listed as an endangered species in 1973. Conservation efforts helped them rebound and they were delisted in 1987.
