It provides more options! Someone might want to see all videos in their subs feed, but not get notified about every upload from every single subscription (especially if they have A LOT). The bell gives channel-level options: receive none, occasional, or all notifications.

I get the options I guess, but I don’t understand why by default it’s set to occasional. If they feel like they’re being spammed they could change it to occasional. I feel like having it set there by default defeats the entire purpose of belling someone
