    There is an undercurrent of working class solidarity which is pervasive in Scottish society and it should be grounded in a broader political movement. Important that these moments aren't just another blip.

    Bravery of folk on Kenmure Street & life saving work by are great examples of community action in ‘reserved’ areas (migration & drug law). If we’re serious about a ‘better Scotland’ this is the type of action we need - we can’t just wait for politicians. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

    I joined the because the SNP, in its current state, is unreformable. Believing in the CWG message , I concluded the only way to do that was to build a left-wing, progressive wing of the independence movement elsewhere.

    As we fought for radical economic policy, the SNP Government continued drifting to the right on economic policy. As we fought to defend internal party democracy, we were overridden by the intervention of the party’s unaccountable, paid bureaucracy.

    I founded the SNP CWG to campaign against the anti-democratic, neoliberal tendency which has a stranglehold on the SNP. We fought for radical economic policies and campaigned for greater internal democracy. We were attacked every step of the way by friends and foes.
