A friend of myn is returning to UK in two weeks. Flights out of Australia were a reasonable price, easy to get approval and only has to quarantine at her dads place for two weeks when she arrives. She also hasn’t lived in the UK for about 7 years

Without dedicated quarantine facilities, it's about to get much harder. Incoming passengers testing positive with Covid have increased by more than 70% in NSW in just two weeks. Hotels were never built for this.

I do recall that about 12 months ago the Govt. gave Aussies who were overseas an ultimatum to come home asap. Many didn't take that advice and now it's become extremely difficult with quotas, hotel quarantine and astronomical airfares.
