There’s a fair amount if carbon used to build these things, they are a hell of a lot more expensive, they don’t go far and last but not least the batteries are carcinogenic. Jacinda in a leaf would be something to behold.

Most have a range of 300 to 500km these days. Which is plenty for city folk (where a reduction of emissions would be great for health reasons). Also most country folk too, not necessarily as a work or commercial vehicle but as a run around, it'd be fine.
