  1. What did Prophet Muhammad say about religious diversity & racial equality? Did he envision a civic nation? Did he foster women’s rights? Where did he stand on the Golden Rule? I answer these questions in this forthcoming book. Available in May 🙏🏻. Published by .

  2. I cannot stress this enough - Jesus & Mary are a *bridge* between Christians/Muslims. Watch Imam Yahya Abdullah & friends in Jacksonville, FL reflect on a Tweet I offered a few weeks ago. We may be miles apart, & we may identify differently, but we indeed remain close at heart.

  3. I received a message: “Do you, as a Christian, believe that Muhammad was a false prophet?” My answer: No. He brought the God of Abraham into billions of hearts throughout history. His life provides us w/many examples to reflect on his prophetic function. He’s indeed a prophet.

  4. *Christian hospitality* had a huge role to play in the preservation of the early ummah. The Christian king of Abyssinia not only welcomed Muslim refugees, but he actively defended them. Plesse join me for a talk on the first hijra on 2/9 at .

  5. Prophet Muhammad’s vision for the ummah is rooted in racial equality & religious pluralism. In one sense, a “Muslim nation” is much more than a space or sense of identity for Muslims alone. The ummah is a community that has the potential to be a safe space for all human beings.

  6. "What have Muslims done for the betterment of the U.S.?" This question sometimes pops up in my messages. As I note in this talk, U.S. Muslims have contributed (& continue to contribute) to every single realm of U.S. society. Full speech:

  7. Prophet Muhammad’s *revolution* pushed for: • Civil rights • Religious diversity • Compassion for the needy • Racial equality • Women’s rights • Environmental care He imagined a humane way of living, a new kind of nation. And his vision is still alive. There is no doubt.

  8. I asked people in my courses, “Who knows what is happening to the Uyghurs in western China?” Very few people raised their hand. This alarmed me because *cultural genocide* is unfolding before our eyes. So we organized this event to raise awareness.

  9. A “peace plan” that does not involve Palestinians is not a peace plan at all. It is that simple. Peace is achieved when all parties involved in a conflict come to the table to talk. That never happened. The proposed plan is a complete & utter disaster. End the occupation. Now.

  10. Quite simply, Muslims are part of who I am & who I wish to be. They are my past & they are my future. They are my family, my mentors, my role models, my friends, & most importantly – my brothers & sisters in humanity. A reflection on my life events 🔽

  11. “The nearest in love ❤️.” That is how the Qur’an (5:82) refers to Christians in relationship to Muslims. This verse was revealed in 613 after the Christian King of Abyssinia welcomed/protected the Muslims who fled Mecca. Let us live this legacy of compassion in 2020 & beyond.

  12. I am absolutely shocked & heartbroken to hear about the sudden & tragic loss of the great Kobe Bryant, his daughter, & all the people on board the helicopter. My humble prayers are w/ family members & all loved ones who were close to these souls. May they rest in eternal peace.

  13. The Qur’an (3:92) says to give freely without expecting any returns. Jesus (Matthew 25:35) says “I was a stranger & you invited me in.” Exodus (23:9) says do not oppress foreigners. Leviticus (19:34) says to love strangers. What are the common threads? CHARITY & HOSPITALITY.

  14. It was a pleasure/honor to host leaders of Houston’s Uyghur community for an informative/raw conversation at Rice University. The cultural genocide of Uyghurs is one of the great stains on humanity of the 21st century. We will continue to amplify their voices. Truth will prevail.

  16. I am excited to discuss my latest book “Islam in America: Exploring the Issues” on Friday, February 7th in Dallas, TX. I will be synthesizing “Islamic values”/“American values,” fostering the dialogue of civilizations, & uplifting our common humanity. I hope to see you there 🙏🏻.

  17. I am often asked on social media, “Why should Christians be friends w/ Muslims?” Here is one answer: “Because Muslims are close to Mary.” The Qur’an goes out of its way to honor her. It recognizes her as the greatest woman ever. It says she’s honored in this world & the next.

  18. A message pops up in my inbox: “Christianity says ‘love thy neighbor.’ Islam has nothing like that.’’ Actually, it does. “Whoever goes to bed while his neighbor is hungry isn’t a true believer.” These are the loving words of Prophet Muhammad. I’m only scratching the surface.

  19. The U.S. Supreme Court honors Prophet Muhammad as one of the greatest law givers in history. Harvard University Law School recognizes the Qur’an as one of the leading books for justice in the world. I share these facts when people say, “Islam is incompatible with U.S. values.”

  20. Martin Luther King Jr. hoped that his children will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the *content of their character* (1963). Prophet Muhammad stated that people are superior to others only by *piety/good action* (632). 1,331 years apart, but KINDRED SPIRITS ❤️.
