I mean he was originally cast as Pennywise before Skarsgaard and all the other changes to the film so there's hope. Not that I thought he'd be bad, but it's a promising start that's got me excited to see what comes later beyond the idea of bringing that character into the MCU

If you haven't seen him in Kathryn Bigelow's DETROIT, he's absolutely insane in that. Really displays his dramatic chops. This is great casting.
