When Pr. Raoult said that he was seeing no mortality benefit in their hospitalizations for Covid-19 of fully vaccinated patients, I was skeptic. Unfortunately, it is confirmed by CDC data now, the 20%-ish number being what was observed pre-vaccinations. https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/covid-19/health-departments/breakthrough-cases.html …pic.twitter.com/4JhH239OrC

For clarity as I can see misinterpretations in the comments: the vaccine greatly reduces the odds of you being hospitalized, but apparently does not help if you are.

What is surprising is not that Pr Raoult was right but that the « official » numbers have not been tempered with to prove the contrary

So vaccines prevents infections and severity in general . .But if the disease progresses beyond a point in some people then they don't help

Maybe I miss something, but if the fully vaccinated patients have less risk to make a severe form, it is still interesting. Only a small proportion goes to the hospital.

Yeah but only 794 cases in 115mln fully vaxed?? Isnt that a seriously perfect score or am i missing something?

I am not surprised, if you get to the hospital after the vaccine, down by ~98% in Israel, you had a poor antibody response to it. That population tends to be older and sicker than regular hospitalizations.

the israel study case does not proove anything yet : currently there were 2 epidemics, one of which occured during and after the vaccination campain and was worse than the first. either a 3rd wave demonstrates the inefficiency of the vaccine, or the lack of said wave the opposite

The question would then be, is the percentage of people being hospitalized the same or is this a lower percentage?

I guess this emphasizes the need for treatments in addition to vaccines.
