I think he’s trying to weasel-word himself out of accusations of racism with the idea of “luck.” Like everyone has an equal chance of hitting the genetic lottery for some trait.

That's exactly what these types do. "Genetics are real, but it's a complete shuffle of the cards with no further implications than that at all ha ha, look no further than the rhetorical sleight of hand I just pulled!"

Oh no, I think I've come up with their next fall back position. "Genes produce intelligence but combinations of genes, therefore every pair of parents has an equal chance to produce recombinations that lead to any level of intelligence"

"From this it logically follows that we must ensure that people who happen to have lucky *combinations* of genes don't have too much success in life or produce too many children"

I've been saying this. The right thinks HBD is an argument to win. This is like libertarians thinking tech was a thing to side with against government. Broad HBD acceptance will justify Bio-Marxism and the most ruthless leftist policies ever seen.

To the left the only thing thats sacred is their idea of justice. Nothing else matters, least of all nature. See: Transgenderism.

Perhaps the post modernists are right; there really is only power. Arguments dont matter.

A world where arguments matter is a good and useful thing but to preserve it it requires the ruthless treatment of those to whom arguments do not matter. People whose entire ethic is "may the best argument win" seem to be the most reluctant to notice this.
