Not talking about the broader social trend which is obviously far beyond this but talking about the non-quantified observation that looking at prime age city women you used to see zero of them who were fat but since tinder you see them a lot.

More making a different argument. Women in cities were there because 21st century Am cities are to women what a harem is to a sultan and used to stay thin - even as the trend was everyone getting fat. Then tinder happened and they stopped being an exception to the obesity trend

BMI is good for overall populations if everything remains constant but at least some part of the men in the dating world in cities gaining weight is caused by more men lifting because it's needed in the environment (appealing to women in photographs alone)

No, that's not it at all. There's a clear cause and effect from tinder to women who are still in the mating competition putting on weight and it's visible to anyone who's lived in major cities for a while.
