I don't know if it's *primarily* genetic, but I do know that all traits are heritable, so if liberalism is selecting against liberal traits, then the population becomes less prone to memetic capture over time, making its primary means of control increasingly open to attack

Liberalism is forked - it has to capture top and bottom. Capturing the bottom is easy and what it's optimized for - seduce people with processed food, free insulin and movies with great CGI. Capturing the top was *never a problem* in the past. People captured themselves.
