Highly important discussion - the (second) Yarvin / Michael Anton podcast. You're taking the Yarvin position - no collapse happens and there's a lot of decline to a place becoming Mexico. The counterpoint is that there's massive (USG) force preventing order from emerging.

Yarvin, who I genuinely love and admire, is wrong here. A moderate reduction in the US Navy's ability to safeguard shipping would start pretty much everything unraveling, and that's just one easy example of the fragility of our current order.

This is the Motte (or is it the Bailey?) and I don't disagree. Many use this as cope, and many are delighted by the allure of "apocalypse porn," but that has no bearing on the fact that the demographic situation has historical precedent.

There's *is* selection going on right now, and it's not for wireheads. A people who stops reproducing will fade away.

the issue isn’t so much whether liberalism is memetic or genetic, but whether or not the phenotype those effects produce are viable. if liberalism depresses the fertility of most of the smartest people in a country to .7, neither liberalism nor smart people will persist

Take that one step further - can the prog gibs machine persist with no smart people? Maybe (not likely) Can it persist if it *imports* smarties? Sure, maybe If it hits on the latter as the solution then all that needs to happen is some place on Earth needs to breed smarties

this will ultimately fail because as yarvs identified the gibs industrial complex is a patronage system. only makes sense as long as patrons and clients are patrons and clients. if you have to import another layer to ensure gib liquidity, will grow resentful and rebel eventually.

If you've read Yarvin you know there's no revolt from below that happens due to mistreatment - "revolts" are always elite factions enlisting more numerous non-elites.

not so much referring to a revolt from below as a revolt in parallel (germanics in rome, medes in assyria, etc, yes aware these were armed, but at some point west will attempt to outsource this the same way) for that kind of transition “below” is surplus to requirements.
