Anya Anya quite contrary, given the size of China's industrial base and population, it's not surprising that they would. Ever hear of Flint, Michigan?

lmao that's why it's even more apparent there's something wrong over there if it's just more cost effective to bulldoze property than to utilize it

That probably happens more than you think. Like I read this Life_ magazine article from the 70s & later where they bulldozed low-income housing because the people who ended up living there were so hard to manage. They might have done this in Atlantic City and elsewhere w/hotels.

they are in the midst of a 2009-style property bubble collapse that's what's going on, it's not even arguable because it's public. And those weren't dilapidated tenaments getting demolished they were income properties held by an imploding speculation market

Yeah, that's what happened in Atlantic City. They (Donald Trump and others) wanted it to be an East Coast Las Vegas and built multiple skyscraper casinos. But nobody showed up.

Yeah, the CCP apparently built an entire national economic model around that. My amusement is wholly based on the fact they are no different than us at all, they just do all our worst practices more extreme even than we do, whereas we are wanting to do all the bad things they do

You're avoiding the real issue here. China makes *economic* mistakes due to central planning. The US has a breakdown of order. Atlantic City wasn't going to be an east coast Las Vegas because it's 45% black and government in the US can't stop (and encourage) crime from them.

Yeah, dont build in places run by crooked Democrat poliitical machines. I could've told Trump that as a teenager. That is communism. The Democrat Party and CCP are the exact same model. That's entirely my point, thank you.

CCP and (D) do not run on anything *close* to the same model. CCP lets you build an industry and just takes a cut - healthy. (D)s envy people who build anything and are hysterically averse to taking responsibility so every rule is obfuscated and "no one" is responsible.

Build a factory in China and be successful? You get a CCP manager on your board. In the US? You get a union that controls your work rules, EPA that controls your production, OSHA sticking their head in, FTC dictating your prices, EEOC making sure you employ commissars, etc.

That's not true, you just have to be in the right club, just like it is with the CCP. The corporate elite and Marxists are just united in the one party state now. United in protecting their own interests first. That's why China economic model was unsustainable too.
