By Yarvin's estimation Amy Harmon and James Watson were about the same IQ level when they had their dispute.

In a highly competitive environment where the selective filter is the ability to best emulate stupidity, the stupid have a massive advantage because they're sincere. Yarvin's entire argument is that there's a selective filter.https://twitter.com/velvet_ironfist/status/1435322121249509384 …

Once you get into the Ivies, you have to fuck up at an extraordinary level to be thrown out, so Cochran is kind of right.

The best available evidence suggests that the average IQ of Harvard/Oxford/Cambridge students is in the mid-120s. So, Cochran is wrong, but Oxbridge and Harvard students are nothing spectacular.

Agree on 1 & 2. He has a plausible case for the narrow case of the foreign service - it's exam gated to an extent (who knows if they actually use those results - not like anyone is auditing them) and you could put 150+ IQ people in charge of gender studies in Af and they'd fail.

Yarvin is wrong about journalists, but right about Silicon Valley and *some* politicians. Al Gore and Hillary Clinton were both National Merit Finalists and are probably in the top 1% (>135). Based on their SAT results, Bill Gates probably has an IQ of 160-170; Bernanke ~155.
