I have never made a single cent off of anything I have published here. I have never taken any money from anyone. But supposing I had received money from Thiel, why would that be bad, exactly? I have yet to see anyone explain this

I think there's a great quote from Mandela wrt his working with the Soviets. "Were they using us, or were we using them?" It's a fair question. Who is "using" who can be a tricky question.

The answer is cohesion / righteousness. Whoever has more powerful group cohesion / the one that both parties would agree is more right is the one using the other. This doesn't become immediately obvious though.
