Theory - Disney / Pixar rendered a generation unable understand to the emotions of other people due to constant childhood exposure to OVERSIZED eyes and EXAGGERATED expressions Real human expressions don't capture the attention as well so skills at reading them were never honedhttps://twitter.com/The_Jim_Jones/status/1058573086251872258 …

I think kids are more durable. They were permanently hobbled by the exaggerated expressions in Looney Tunes or Ren & Stimpy for example.

No kid carried around tablets showing Looney Tunes or Ren & Stimpy for every second of their lives. On top of that, modern 3D modeled animation is much closer to human because it's modeled so every frame moves vs a still shot with an animated mouth.

The bigger problem is the volume of social interactions that take place among kids by text/tweets/etc. via phones/tablets where there are no facial/body language cues to give feedback vs. in person, where there are, IMO. (Just like these tweets.)

The problems are intertwined - the developing mind hungers for social stimulation and Pixar 3D rendered faces are close enough to sate this need - more than sate it actually - hyperstimulus for reading emotions.
