I have been in a frenzy the last couple of days trying to find where I saw that insane thread about how most HR and admin jobs are subsidised by the state as a way to get more women into the work force. I believe most white collar jobs are entirely artifical.

Great thread. There's also a portion of women hired in the classic eye candy role - which in the 21st century is also the "might decide to blow me after happy hour drinks" role. Partly for customer interaction (pharma reps), partly principal / agent problem with hiring managers
