China: "social credit score". West: "extremism score" for individuals; "climate change score" for businesses and dwellings. it's the same shit.

No, it's not. China's social credit score is an effort to improve behavior in a country that wiped out its aristocratic class in an insane orgy of blood. American "extremism scores" are an effort to prevent resistance to harsher and harsher treatment of a hated population.

i think the "effort to improve" is an excuse for authoritarian move - in both environments with the primary, unstated goal being a tool for quashing dissent with no accountability and under a popular excuse.

I don't see hatred of Chinese people from the CCP unlike Western elites and Euro descended people. This colors every action that both groups take. CCP will grind up a dissident to sell organ powder to make a buck, USG will cost itself money so it can get the thrill of sadism.

matter of perspective, of the outward and inward face of leftism: in the west we see the moves of the top CCP figures (behaving as you described) and of the low&middle level western apparatchiks (many of whom do it for the sickly sadistic pleasure)https://twitter.com/DoppelMark/status/1383473204413427720 …

Was reading a story about an anthropologist who asked Eskimos if they had an idea of what a psychopath was - response - sure, they did. And what do you do about them? When no one is looking, you push him into the ice. CCP recognizes the deadly danger of leftists b/c of the CR.
