I have not seen any evidence for the position that any of the IQ gap is caused by environment.

He's correct in that *shared* environment seems to have no impact on IQ. Roughly 30% of the gap seems to be from unshared environmental influences. But no one has really been able to run down what that means besides "luck."

Clearly that's just 30% that must be genetic that we haven't accounted for - until you can show the specific elements of unshared environmental influence.

I don't think that's an insane position to take. But I've never seen anyone explain the mechanics of unshared environment well enough for me to stake my worldview around it.

No I don’t think the 30% is likely to be “secretly genetic” bc remember this is from studies of mz twins, dz twins, twins adopted into different families... and also it matches the 20% non-genetic component for height in same studies. it’s just random variance

Ah, right. The genetic case is so deathly certain at this point that if unshared environment was actually stealth genetics, it should have been able to figure that out by now.

I'm being tongue in cheek here by mirroring the environmental argument
