What would prove decisively whether the B/W IQ gap is due to genes or not?

I have not seen any evidence for the position that any of the IQ gap is caused by environment.

He's correct in that *shared* environment seems to have no impact on IQ. Roughly 30% of the gap seems to be from unshared environmental influences. But no one has really been able to run down what that means besides "luck."

0% of the gap is due to unshared environment. It's mostly random and thus cannot differ by group. It's shared environment or bust for the environmentalist camp.

If black parents optimised their preconception health e.g. weight, blood pressure, blood sugar, oxidative stress, GSH, inflammation, vit-D, iron, iodine, folate, bacterial & viral infections, omega 3/6 ratio, cardio-respiratory fitness etc would they improve their offspring's IQ?

I read your pinned post on this. I think a lot of the correlations might be backwards, but the interventions should absolutely all be tried anyway. I'm skeptical it would close the gap, but it's possible it could shrink it some. Literally no reason not to find out.

The thing about those interventions is that there's no reason to think they'd close the gap even if they raised the IQ of offspring. If they're effective, they'll be effective for all parents - giving more of an advantage to highly conscientious parents who can follow the formula

(Vitamin D supplementation might be the exception due to skin pigment differences)
