The "problem" with evolution is that it has the ability to get trapped at local maxima - as long as a solution is good enough, it suffices. But doesn’t something only become tradition because of the survivorship principle? Why did tradition survive other challenges but not progressivism?

To me it seems progressivism can only act on as a parasite on a host, it can’t stand on itself, but that still doesn’t explain why the immune system couldn’t fight it off.

Tradition evolves in both ways - adaptations within societies as well as extinctions for societies that displease the natural order too much.
