Saw someone on Twitter today write, "Just because there's the appearance of a correlation doesn't mean there's a correlation." I assume they meant to say correlation!=causation but were so badly programmed they couldn't tell what the words meant.

Another false dogma is "absence of evidence isn't evidence of absence", which in almost all circumstances is untrue.

Yup. This is a very pervasive thought. Because in truth, deep down, they know correlation = causation a large percentage of the time.
