The meme only exists in a (literal) boomer context that is long gone. Stadiums used to be in cities where gangs of white kids would live who would all be interested in baseball as entertainment and try to catch a glimpse of the games. Future paying customers.

Now? The "kids" at the fence watching will take their whole families there and knock down the fence because they're not invested in the society because they didn't build it and their ancestors didn't build it. Used to be healthy, now it's feasting on a corpse.

Also the whole meme is about how we best help these people with cheating to avoid paying tickets, and the optimal solution is that there are no barriers at all to not paying for watching.

Pro baseball can't function with kids standing in the outfield. Removing the fence would remove a fundamental premise of the game.

The people who believe in the philosophy driving these memes couldn’t care less if the game can actually continue to exist or not. They’d scorch the entire earth to achieve their goals if that’s what it took.
