Mmm probably true, although I found this piece pretty reasonable back in the day... conditions in independent bars and restaurants are quite apalling where I live. In fact, even McDonalds respects working hours more.https://jacobinmag.com/2018/01/small-businesses-workers-wages/ …

People think of wages in the wrong way They're not given out of generosity and they're not even really on the workers exactly - a wage of
$x per hour is really saying "as the manager of this business I can think of things for you to do that I can turn into more than$x of value"1 reply 2 retweets 10 likes
Big businesses are businesses that have figured out codified, reproducible tasks that can be assigned that produce $x + y per hour of value to the owners.
Small ones have not - which is why they're small.
