A blackpill for my trad friends: the people you're trying to emulate weren't trying to go back to anything. They were just themselves, using available resources the best they could. The very act of trying to be like X means you'll never be like X.

I'm not sure that's exactly true.

There's definitely a "we will make a new world that we don't quite fit" element - we have to learn from tradition and actually understand it and figure out how to both keep alive that knowledge (which requires a coldness) and implant that tradition in most people as a reflex.

Knowledge of the current world's belief system is an info-hazard in a lot of ways but some will need to have it to fully understand how badly wrong it is.

Yeah, men who have the temperament to step outside the mainstream and value truth over social acceptability have a value and a healthy society uses them for a good purpose.
