I’m weirdly fascinated by aborted star pushes — Hollywood trying to make a young actor a movie star who is destined not to be a movie star. You see them a lot in “Young Star vs. Old Star” flicks. Case in point: Chris O’Donnell opposite Al Pacino in SCENT OF A WOMAN (1992).

The astoundingly artificial push to make Shia Labouf a movie star included one of these in that awful Indiana Jones as an extremely old man movie.
