Controversial opinion: The Jaguar and Eagle warriors in the Aztec military were more physically capable than the Conquistadors (they just had inferior technology and tactics)pic.twitter.com/b5QbeGseAU

One vs one? They could beat any Conquistador. Once Cortés managed to get everyone else to fight the Aztecs it was game over.

That's insanely false. There were battles where each Spanish soldier would kill tens of Aztecs with swords alone. "But they had steel armor" You think fighting in steel armor isn't physically demanding?

I've fought knights with full plate even peasants with partial sets are extremely difficult to kill. Add in you have little to no armor and the enemy has had hundreds of years fighting other equally advanced army's and nations. they killed things bigger and meiner than the aztecs

Dude we are talking about Jaguar and Eagle warriors, not your average Aztec soldier. There were not many of them, but they were elite. “It’s insanely false” the Spanish chronicle writers from back then disagree but ok.

The fact that the Spanish won so decisively is pretty good evidence that their chronicles were accurate.

And the Spanish found other Europeans its like if a aztec empire had other empires as its neighbors for 100s of years... then put one of these new 100s of years experienced nation's against the -100s years army its like putting bronze age Greeks up against the hre...

As demonstrated again in North America hunter gatherers were often in better physical condition and also skilled as warriors. Very different than the OP's contention about a subset of Aztec soldiers.

Yes but steel armor is also extremely good for protection and it was vastly superior to what the Aztecs had. Give both warriors the same arms and armor and the Aztec wins 9/10.
