I still have no idea what this talking point is supposed to mean or why people think important to say it even if they believe it to mean something.https://twitter.com/realchrisrufo/status/1394395052034596864 …

"CRT is Marxism with race instead of class" "What does that mean?" "It’s Marxism, but with race instead of class" "Ok, but what does that *mean*? Can you explain it to me?" "CRT is Marxism, but with race instead of class."

patrissoli @patrissoliReplying to @pegobryThis stems from the large numbers of ppl trained to treat “Marxism” as a devil word—if a thing is “Marxist,” then vile and disreputable, no further analysis necessary USA conservatives don’t realize/don’t care that this linguistic gambit isn’t the trump card they think it is3 replies 6 retweets 101 likesShow this thread -
I can certainly think of parallels to Marxism/Communism (ostensible egalitarianism, utopianism...) but those are simply the parallels that exist between every left-wing movement and every other left-wing movement. What explanatory value does it have to say "Marxism"?

Ultimately I think CRT is too stupid to productively analyze philosophically (unlike Marxism, which is a robust theory), but if you pointed a gun to my head and made me associate it with a philosopher, it would be Rousseau, not Marx.

Also I think it's important not to take CRT at face value. It presents itself as an ethic of resentment (like Marxism), but since its constituency is rich Baizuo, not BIPOC, it really is an ethic of self-hatred.

The constituency of Marxism was never "the workers" - it was always the intellectuals / the secular priesthood who would be empowered. You think it's important to not take CRT at face value and you don't even see how it's important to not take Marxism at face value.
