      Taking more than one wife in normal circumstance is anti-social and is defecting on the other men in your tribe because you're leaving someone without. If the situation arises where your tribe conquers another then there are excess women who need to be allotted to the fighters.

      Not everyone wants children though. For one reason or another there are plenty of people who have no desire to bring another human into this world or to be a parent. We no longer need every couple to have a child either. It's not necessary for the survival of the species anymore

      Excuse me? Just because you can’t understand why I don’t want children doesn’t mean it’s wrong for me to not want children. And back then, no running water or hospitals most likely didn’t even cross their mind because it was normal for them not to have those things.
