Because he caught and released the would-be carjacker, leaving him able to do it again a bit better next time. Since they're pro-crime that's a valuable service for them.

Right, but that's all Jonathan Pentland was doing. He told the dude to get lost. He didn't even body slam him. Yet a lynch mob assembled and the sheriff arrested him. What makes the two cases different? The same Twitter blue checks have opposite reactions to either case.

Yeah, I was being flip. The actual reason is because carjacker interrupter guy looked strong and his carjacker looked weak You can say this doesn't explain the reaction to Floyd but really it does - the interaction with Floyd showed Floyd to be high status and worth catering to
