The bind that liberalism has put itself in is very simple. It promises a level playing field, but when you actually play the game, it keeps resulting in unequal outcomes between different groups "Reasonable people" should conclude that something is fundamentally wrong with ithttps://twitter.com/ConceptualJames/status/1375868086914592769 …

Why would unequal inputs yield equal outputs? Liberalism doesn't predict or promise that.

Assuming that all groups are equal, the outputs of them should be equal as well. Differences between individuals will exist, but not clear racial disparities

Is it written in some liberal tome that groups have no average differences and that any empirical evidence to the contrary must be dismissed? A faithful liberal is an empiricist, no?

If so, empirically observing differences in group ability should immediately lead you to the adoption of a great deal of illiberal principles. "Stop and frisk" being only among the most obvious Not allowed under liberal law

That's why society has conservatives. Conservatives are reconciled to the fact that the differences exist and are probably in part or mostly genetic. Liberals challenge that claim, as it's their nature. This tension over competing claims of necessity is a healthy balancing act.

You can't have a stable political compromise between sides where one is empirically wrong and dedicated to remaining so. You can disagree on values that trade off but not on facts or values that are contradictory.
