So you think there's a profitable business to be created in selling $9k trucks and *no one* enters it because existing players would rather not undercut their own market in expensive trucks? Why? Out of courtesy to them? Impossible without external factors (regulation).

Just so. This is also why I'm driving a car that's old enough to drive, has over 200k miles, and is long paid off... ain't no way I could buy another one at this point, they make em' pricy. There's a marker for sub-20k vehicles, can't see them meeting it though.

If existing players don't serve that market, fine. But why does no one else do so? Why not a truck-making startup? The answer sure as hell isn't the market.

NGL I just wish I could get a new car with a built in ashtray and analogue instruments. Also no beep boop built in display computers and the like. Also not shaped like a teardrop.

Teardrop shape is downstream of mandated fuel economy standards - you can't choose to spend your money on fuel because of regulations requiring manufacturers have their fleets meet efficiency standards.
