Well it created the policy landscape in which we still live. The man isn’t solely responsible for it, but he had a veto and he chose to sign it into law. I agree progressives go overboard in their attributions to evil RW, but Reagan wasn’t great on a lot of levels

Ok so we agree deinstitutionaluzation is a major source of permanent urban homelessness, and that Reagan signed LPS act (which was bipartisan) and had the goal of accomplishing that. Why shouldn’t he bear responsibility for it?
