Just found out that in california they used to host animal fighting tournaments and basically no matter what animal they picked or shipped in (e.g. lion) bears FUCKED them up

A Grizzly weighs about 50% more than a Lion. Also, have you ever seen a bear without fur? Horrifying. Few:pic.twitter.com/qrlZPQJiZ5

Apparently the lion has weak skull and can't get into bite grizzly before getting head crushed

muy interesante, kinda puts an end to the whole "who'd win in a..." discussion the boys like to have

my personal cat pick is tiger. I wonder if they were able to import one. I feel like Tiger would be better match

From what I've read tigers lose to lions even though they're larger because lions (1) have manes which protect them from bites to an extent and (2) practice fighting because they're social and (3) are actually selected to fight big cats b/c they need to to take over a pride

But the relevant question here is Tiger vs Bear. I think a Tiger would do better than a Lion. T & B have overlapping ranges and compete in a similar niche

Have never considered the fact that there are no bears in Africa. Wonder what that’s about.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiger_versus_lion … Believe it or not there’s a wiki page devoted to this matchup. It’s pretty much a mixed bag from the recorded ones, possibly a slight advantage to tiger. They are generally heavier/stronger/more agile
