Just like Scott Alexander, I do not get the NRX "reactionary" label Just say: the people are dumb, democracy sucks, we want cryptographic corporate cyber technocracy because this is what you want, nothing like Moldbug's "patchwork" ever existed in history. why all the feudal

Isn't that what we are getting? The Si valley oligarchs are, they believe, self-evidently smarter than us dumb poor schmucks so they've hijacked democracy, created a puppet show for the peons, and established a credentialed clerisy to administer their decisions.

Foolish in the extreme to see this as SV making moves rather than tech getting cordecypted by the same people who control the press and academia and the bureaucracy. The SV ethic is dead because the place is run by progressives that they couldn't kick out of their companies.

LOL. What makes you think that Silicon Valley is secretly on "your side", but the poor, helpless and naive multi billionaires can do nothing and are completely powerless? What makes you think there was ever any "ethic" than

For big tech billionaires who have from the beginning sought to build oligopolies, the woke culture war is a welcome distraction and division of the 99%. Any "Silicon Valley ethic" they paid lip service to was only to excite nerds until they could be replaced with H1Bs.

Folk Marxism is the result of having absorbed the narrative that there's a natural, inevitable proletarian revolution and come to a contorted interpretation of everything to preserve this belief. There isn't some inevitable uprising against "the 1%" that's being kept down.

Ah yes, the 1% must have leaked that meme from their planning sessions rather than it being a pictorial representation of folk Marxists believe.

it is not "the 1%", it is the 1% of 1% what is your explanation for rise of "wokeism"? the elites saw plight of black and
#LGBTQ people, their
started bleeding, and decided to do everything to stop racism, homophobia and transphobia, while getting richer than ever before?1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes
That your "elites" don't control their orgs if they try to use them in non-progressive approved ways and in fact are under immense pressure to not assert control over their companies which are controlled by employees who are part of an egregore that cooperates across orgs.

The same egregore protects the companies because they're under the egregore's control and only crushes competitors that threaten the egregore - not ones that threaten the companies. Hence why gab gets crushed but new competitors are allowed as long as they're woke.
