To elaborate, this is cringe and autistic. Regimes can be effectively classified using the Aristotelian model, divided by number of rulers: One, Few and Many and rule: Lawful or Unlawful. So regimes are Monarchies/Tyrannies, Aristocracies/Oligarchies and Politeias/Democracies.

Information technology and industrial level scale allow for changes to power formulas like making it possible to hide power and allow for cell like structures where people only know their immediate superiors and have no idea about the overall network. Aristotle needs updating.

Our problems stem from hiding power. If you can hide power, it is unaccountable. If it's unaccountable, it's informal. If it's informal, it's not subject to the form - i.e. the law, therefore it is unlawful. No amount of nerd bullshit is going to change that. Aristotle is Lindy.

Aristotle is lindy but power adapts to use new tools. Aristotle isn't wrong, just out of date - hence why the extension to his classifications Power depends on coordination and group behavior- both of which have had very important changes due to tech - industrial and information

Coordination at both elite and non-elite levels is the same as it has always been - elites follow ideas and create spontaneous-appearing order, non-elites follow material incentives.

Industrialism allows scaling of material facts, infotech allows global idea proliferation. But the fundamentals are the same.

Coordination has changed radically. Imagine trying to run an org like modern Antifa even 100 years ago. The amount of trust and independence that had to be allowed in underlings was massive. Now an NGO that is monitored sends $ to and monitors the guy who produces the bodies.

Geographically dispersed elites come from all across the country and world to form bonds in early adulthood that are continually reinforced through a lifetime of contact via easy, cheap air travel.

The old system was that a local lord would meet mostly with supplicants - his clients but now the bureaucracy deals with the supplicants and the patrons only meet with each other and see each other. Qualitative change.

This is only different if you don't understand nonlinear impact (don't worry, not even Moldy does). The lord meeting a serf is about as impactful as seeing a chair - his opinions and ideas are formed in the very rare, but still present elite meetups (feasts, banquets etc.).

Lord meeting a serf has a far bigger impact than that It makes him feel good for having clients, it makes him feel pride and security at his lofty station (how can my clients survive without me?) - all things missing and pathological with present elites who see only other elites

Are you implying that today's elites have zero contact with Consuela the maid, or their token black clie... I mean, friend?

Consuela the maid really isn't a person to them and no, their contact with the token blacks doesn't qualify as contact with the clients - the *real* clients are the people those people would never see in a million years. Teach for America is the exception and isn't popular
