Making this point disconnected from the particulars, btw. There's no way that framing of the event is correct. No one at NYT gets fired due to a right wing outrage mob. This person almost certainly got fired for some other reason and this is the excuse.

I despise the “Muh bad faith” nonargument, breadtubers throw it around like it means something now a days. But above all it’s a rhetorical trap that paychologizes motives, one that you can only get out of by conceding up every point to them.
