All of these of course are a direct consequence of proving that reality tv is an acceptable way to earn and run a presidency.

So when slate praises BLM for looting and riots, we pin the blame on Trump and take this as confirmation of the prediction that a Trump presidency would be damaging? cc

I think it's pretty clear that BLM and how people responded was a direct reaction to Trump (although it could be argued they both had a common cause, it's pretty clear that if a less extreme president was in office, BLM would have looked very different)

BLM did the same stuff (like committing random murder of cops) when Obama was president minus like 90% of the looting and arson b/c of the calming influence of Obama? What it looks like is turning up the anarcho-tyranny pain because voters didn't vote how they were supposed to.

It's a simple calculus of "Trump made it ok to just say, yeah, we don't give a shit about people not like us" and BLM responded in mind. (Again, it could be argued that Trump got elected because of the same dynamic between rural/urban)...

But Trump opened the pandora's box of not even pretending or paying lip service to civility. Whole different ball game.

Trump opened a Pandora's box? What even is "BLM"? Why and how does it exist? Where does it collect funds? Who are its leaders? When you answer these questions it's obvious that they're a paramilitary arm of the state with laundered state funding There's no organic BLM response

Even if that were true, how does it change the argument? Trump opened the door and either citizens or other politicians also stepped through it.

You think BLM is some kind of organic response to blacks being mistreated - it's not. You think Trump is causing resentment over blacks being basically being allowed to commit crimes - he's not causing that.
