Respectability or how it looks play a role. People depend on being seen as moral and the arbiter of that is the Press. There are one person and one company that challenged the press among others last year. S. How did Scott challenge NYT? They wanted his blog down, he took it down. Before that he got word that he was flirting too much with thought crime and was gatewaying instead of gatekeeping and he upped the gateway writing and moderation. His function is to provide cog dis relief
