Wrong frame for this is that they're afraid of Trump / his supporters - they're not. They're afraid of each other - the most powerful weapon in the intra-left squabbles is saying the target supported Trump in some way. They won't stop because they're terrified of each other.https://twitter.com/stillgray/status/1348094144036524032 …

What do you mean? I thought they were banning everything to limit how much trump supporters could talk to each other They are afraid that they can't control the narrative anymore They used to be able to control it with the TV. But noone watches TV anymore.

Trump supporters are like space aliens to them - they never see them (as far as they know). Other progressives they see everyday. Progressives purge each other all the time for insufficient progressivism and it's what they all fear - being isolated and cut off from power.

They don't fear losing control of the narrative exactly - they fear having been seen as having done something to help the other side or not having done something to stop them.

Yeah This is kind of a chicken or the egg problem do they fear trump supporters for not being on board with the narrative, or do they fear being ostracized by their peers for not having contributed to stop the enemy? Isn't 2nd implicit is the 1st?

It just needs a start - once all of them believe that everyone else believes in the danger of the former then their concern shifts to the latter in a way that's unrelated to the actual danger from the former. This is why you can't get a plan of action from reversing their fears.
